"We won't give up, shut up, or let up" until abortion ends
Hundreds of pro-life Americans spent their Sunday afternoon on April 29, 2018, marching for the end of abortion.
"We will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of adversity, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity," read the Oath of the Unborn printed on the handout for the march.
The 8th annual Reading-Berks March for Life in central Pennsylvania kicked off at Berks Catholic High School. Throngs of people holding sins and crosses made their way through the city of Reading, pausing for prayer in front of Planned Parenthood, before reaching Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the final destination of the march.
TFP Student Action bagpipers and drummers provided rousing patriotic music for the two-mile trek. Two young volunteers also carried a statue of the Infant Jesus.
Before the march even hit the pavement, several speakers exhorted those gathered to fight abortion, including David Bereit of 40 Days for Life, Maggie Sweet, Helen MacMinn and Fr. Stephen Isaac.
Marchers carried small crosses as an act of reparation for the innocent lives lost to the horrors of abortion and the nihilistic culture from which it was spawned. May Our Lady present our prayer before the throne of God and hasten the day when abortion will finally be made unthinkable in America.
"As Christians committed to the sanctity of life, we are part of the fellowship of the unashamed. We have the power of the Holy Spirit," the Oath of the Unborn proclaims. "Our decision for life's sanctity has been made. The die is cast. We have stepped over the line. We are disciples of Jesus Christ. We won't look back, let up, slow down, back away or be still."
"We won't give up, shut up, or let up, until we have stayed up, stored up, prayed up, and preached up for the cause of Christ's precious unborn.... And when He comes for His followers, He will have no problem recognizing us:
"OUR BANNER IS CLEAR."
